I didn’t really like maths at school. I found it quite boring because you have to repeat things a lot! But luckily I realised that’s just because school maths is not like real life research.

Most of the stuff I do everyday involved maths. But it’s actually very creative, because I have to invent new ways to calculate things. So rather than just repeating boring methods, I can try whatever I feel like!

I wish school maths had been more interesting, and hopefully one day I’ll be able to convince the government that it shouldn’t be so repetitive!

I really liked science till 7th grade after which it got separated into physics, chemistry and biology. Biology was my favorite but used to struggle with physics and chemistry. I hated learning equations in chemistry and could never understand physics! I wish I had a good teacher for those subjects to make it interesting.

But now since my research is interdisciplinary, I need a little knowledge of chemistry at times for which I have found some really interesting online tutorials 🙂

Biology was my favourite subject but I didn’t really like chemistry or physics. Even though I didn’t enjoy chemistry, I studied it at A-level and glad I did as it helped when I went to University to do Biology.

      I loved maths and physics.
Chemistry I quite liked, but Biology I found really boring.

I’d have hated it if I’d had to do GCSE combined science – fortunately back when I did it, I was allowed to just do Physics and Chemistry, and drop Biology.
