  I don’t really carry out chemical experiments – I work with bacteria, either killing them or helping them grow so I’ve never had to carry out chemical reactions where I make compounds – this is where our chemists help! They make new antibiotics, and I test them to see if they work. Sometime’s I’ve had to work out the molecular weight of a compound which I need the periodic table for though, so it’s very important!
