      Absolutly…

Science is all about figuring out how things work, and the things I want to figure out are the things that are around me.

I regularly see something and think – there’s a great project in that. Or thats really interesting, I’ll use that idea for something.

Sometimes they things like that don’t go anywhere, but all the best stuff I’ve done has been from seeing something interesting in “normal” life and realising it was important.

I don’t think my work affects my home life – I try to avoid taking work home with me, if I have a lot to do, I’ll stay at work later.

But science in general does affect my normal life as I’m always looking things up or blogging about science – it’s what I enjoy!
