• Question: hi, i was reading a book of physics and it was saying about D-branes and i don't know what it is ?

      technically that’s not a question, but if it makes you feel any better we don’t know what they are either!

      Actually I know they’re part of string theory, so Edward can probably help. However even for a physicists string theory is a pretty specialised subject.

      There’s a saying, that becoming an expert or specialist is the process of knowing more and more about less and less. when you finally get there you know everything about nothing!

      Even if you decide to become a physicist you might never learn any string theory, as physics is a HUGE subject.
