Stars are made from clouds of dust and gas in our galaxies.

These clouds can be very turbulent and triggers such as stellar explosions can make the dust and gas to combine to form enough gravity to starts to collapse. When it does this, the center becomes very hot and collects more dust and gas and this becomes a new star.
