      Probably not

By all being slightly different it means that should some unseen event (like a super bug, pollution, radiation, climate or whatever) occur, then there’s probably some people just a little more suited to surviving it.

If everyone was a clone, then the first bug that managed to kill off one person would kill off everyone.

It makes sense not to put “all your eggs in one basket”.

Variation is essential for any species to survive – this is how strong, desirable traits get passed on. One of the reasons humans have flourished so well is because we’re all different – passing on desirable traits that help us survive.

If everyone was the same we wouldn’t get stronger and like Ian has mentioned, one disease that we’re not immune to would kill off our whole species.
