A corm is another word for a bulb or tuber, which is a large swollen part of the plant that stores water. Some plants die in the summer and all that remains is a bulb, that stays under ground in the winter – the water in it keeps the plant alive. When the temperature rises, the plant grows again in spring or summer. Sometimes you remove the bulbs from the ground and put them in a shed or greenhouse to protect them from frost 🙂
