The main parts of the brain are the cerebellum, the cerebrum and the brain stem. The cerebrum is the biggest part of the brain which does all the thinking and forms memories and is split into areas called lobes which all have different functions:

      – frontal lobe – thoughts, memory and behaviour
      – parietal lobe – language
      – temporal lobe – responsible for processing what we hear and emotions
      – occipital lobe – processes what we observe in our surroundings

The cerebellum is responsible for balance and coordination and the brain stem controls bodily functions like breathing and swallowing.

There are 4 major parts of the brain, each of these is also subdivided into many parts-

1- Cerebrum- largest part, controls voluntary activities, sensory functions such as listening, taste, touch, sight, smell, thinking, reasoning, creativity.
2- Cerebellum- coordination of movement, posture, and balance.
3- Limbic System- emotions, regulation of body temperature.
4- Brain Stem- involuntary actions such breathing and heart rate and reflex actions.
